October, 2012 – St. Augustine, FL. Founders of USGreenBrokers.com, Gail Johnson of Phoenix, AZ and Jeannette Moore of St. Augustine, FL, received delivery of their 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrids earlier this month. Jeannette and Gail felt owning a hybrid car, and one made in the USA, was very important since their website, USGreenBrokers.com showcases energy-efficient homes for sale, sustainable services and “green” real estate professionals throughout the United States.
Both ladies were the first 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid owners in their respective areas of Arizona and Florida to take delivery of Ford’s newest hybrid model. Jeannette and Gail have been committed to reducing their carbon footprints for many years and were the first real estate professionals in their areas to earn the National Association of Realtors (NAR) GREEN designation and become certified EcoBrokers over 4 years ago. “It’s not an easy task when you work in the real estate industry in a large metro area like Phoenix,” says Gail Johnson, “to conserve on gasoline and emissions, but driving my US made Ford C-Max hybrid (rated 47 mpg) when showing property does make a difference.”
Founders Gail Johnson and Jeannette Moore have dedicated themselves and USGreenBrokers.com as a source for consumers to locate sustainable professionals and products as well as energy-efficient homes, in an easy, searchable (by state) database. Both Gail and Jeannette were instrumental in adding sustainable data fields to their local Multiple Listing Services (MLS), allowing homes with energy-efficient upgrades to be found more easily by buyers searching for those features which led to the creation of their website to promote sustainability throughout the US by showcasing third-party certified green professionals and products.
Jeannette Moore, a Real Estate Broker in St. Augustine, FL, continues her mission to “green” numerous MLS systems throughout northeast Florida with a grant awarded the North Florida Chapter of the US Green Building Council (USGBC). She also currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Florida Green Building Coalition, a state-wide home certification program, as well as helping homeowners’ associations (HOAs) incorporate Florida Friendly Landscaping principles, as mandated by Florida Statute 373.185, into new or existing community covenants and restrictions.
