AKA, the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development and Rio+20 Summit, members of  the United Nations will be begin gathering tomorrow, June 20 to discuss future pathways to a safer, more equitable, cleaner, greener and more prosperous world for all.  As of today, President Obama is not registered to attend as he is currently in Mexico for the G20 Summit.  Click here to view the countries that have committed to attend the conference.

The first UN Summit, the UN Conference for Human Environment was held in Stockholm in 1972 when world leaders recognized impending environmental  problems and formed the UN Environmental Programme (UNEP).  Twenty years later, 1992, the Summit was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with the adoption of Agenda 21.  Between the two summits, in the 1980’s, the UN Commission on Environment and Development, aka the Bruntland Commission,  was formed.  What came out was a document called “Our…
